I am in charge of primary health care and also serve as Chairman of the Hospital Management Committee overseeing the secondary health care division, a sort of supervisory role. The decentralization is fine. We are doing our level best, despite some serious challenges facing us and there is even room to do more.

I am 25 years old and live at Blama, Small Bo. I did not attend formal schooling, but learnt Arabic. One day during the early stages of the rebel war, I was hit on my right leg by a stray bullet in my village Ngoremie, Small Bo, as I attempted to venture out of my house. Since them I continued to live in terror and pain.

I have served in this institution for about 22 years. Health care responsibilities devolved to town councils include Primary Health Care, Births and Deaths, Health Education, Environmental Health, Public Health. As far as public and environmental health are concerned, solid waste management (collection and dumping) in the township is our primary responsibility.
