I am an EDC Unit Dispenser at The Mana II Community Health Post, Lokomassama Chiefdom, Port Loko District, established in 1996 by an international NGO from Germany, CORD. I have served the Mana II community for a decade and the Health Ministry for 42 years, beginning as EDC Unit Assistant. I run the centre with an MCH Aide and a Potter, covering 31 catchments of 8515 people.
Justin P.C. Allie, Mana II Community Health Post, Port Loko

This Mana II Community Health Post and its quarter, located about 17 miles away from Port Loko Town, were completely looted during the war with all their facilities. Even the zinc is rippled with bullet holes and is yet to be rehabilitated.

Most times especially during the rains, the MCH Aide and I conduct clinics at our quarter, just to ensure that our patient do not loose.  The clinic services, though provided on cost-recovery basis, are free for vulnerable members of our society who can not afford treatment fees, including the aged and children.

We don’t have any special clinic day as the patients hardly come within schedule.

As for drug supplies, we do get drug supplies from the District Medical Stores but they are always irregular and insufficient.
