I am the Operations Officer at the ‘I’ Division Headquarters, Magburaka. I have served the Sierra Leone Police force for 18 years and the Magburaka community for about nine months. The general health care situation in Magburaka is good.

But as Police officers, we have special arrangement for receiving treatment from Government-run public health units. This makes our own case a bit different. However, the swiftness at which they attend to us at the Magburaka Government Hospital and the complainants we refer to them for examination and treatment is commendable.
The most frequently reported case at the I Division that often requires medical attention is assault. The lesser case is wounding. As soon as we refer these cases to the hospital for medical examination and treatment, and provided the victims do not delay in going to the hospital, they are attended to instant and the reports of the findings filed.
We have a very cordial working relationship with the medical personnel at the hospital including those from MSF Holland who are all performing well despite the limited resources at their disposal.
