For the past four years that I have been Paramount Chief of Wara-Wara Yagala Chiefdom in the Koinadugu District, I can say, that the health care delivery has been very much appreciable to say the least.

Paramount Chief Yembeh Mansaray III, Wara-Wara Yagala Chiefdom, Koinadugu District:

With three qualified doctors at the Government Hospital, cases are well attended to, resulting in a reduction in the infant and maternal mortality rates.

I therefore, want to thank government on behalf of my people, for the hard working medical officers posted here, especially Dr S.A.S Kargbo, who has traversed the whole district, identifying problems and challenges in the health sector.

I also want to thank Dr Oladipo from Nigeria for his invaluable sacrifices; he is always alert to serve at all times.

Most remarkably, all of the major towns and villages have got clinics; and very soon, we shall be proud owners of a 1st class hospital for Kabala Town and its environs.

We hope that the supply of drugs will continue to improve.

We are happy with the decentralization process especially in the delivery of health care services, which empowers our communities to play a more direct and meaningful role in the actualization of health programmes and activities affecting them.

Moreover, the District Health Management Team (DHMT) has been working in close collaboration with the District Council and its sub-committee on health.

On the whole, it is a move in the right direction.
