I am a trained and qualified MCH Aide, working in this community since 2000.
Aminata Koroma, MCH Aide, Yataya MCHP, Wara-Wara Yagala Chiefdom, Koinadugu District:

Together with the vaccinator and six TBAs, four of whom are trained, I deliver services such as EPI, Health Talk, Ante natal and post natal care, Under-Fives and general treatment.

As you can see, pregnant women and lactating mothers always come for treatment, which has greatly reduced both maternal and infant mortality not only at Yataya, but also in the surrounding catchments.

The defaulter- tracing and de-worming campaigns recently carried out by the DHMT were very crucial in taking health delivery services to the door steps of the communities.

Also, the distribution of Insecticide- treated nets has greatly reduced the incidence of malaria not only in children, but also in pregnant women and lactating mothers.

I receive drugs on cost-recovery basis from the main referral hospital at Kabala.
