My name is Edward Ali Nahim. I attended Kharkov State Medical Institute in Ukraine, Former Soviet Union from 1965 to 1972 and obtained a Medical Degree (Doctor of Medicine). In 1973, I started work as a house surgeon and house physician at the Connaught Hospital.

I also worked as house surgeon in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Government Maternity Hospital (PCMH) Freetown. I was a house physician in Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital. I became the Psychiatric Registrar, Kissy Mental Hospital, Freetown.
From 1977 to 1981, I went to the University of London, Institute of Psychiatry and obtained a Diploma in Psychological Medicine. I was made a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians in 1981. After this, I worked at the following places there.
I was the Registrar, Guys Hospital London, a psychiatric registrar, Institute of Psychiatry, London Maudsley Hospital, London. I also worked at the Bethlem Royal Hospital, London, St. Francis Hospital London and Hillingdon Hospital, London.
From 1981 to 2005, I worked as Director and Consultant Psychiatrist, Part-time Senior Physician, Fourah Bay College University of Sierra Leone, Consultant Psychiatrist, Sierra Leone Military Forces, 34 Military Hospital, Lecturer in Psychiatry and Final Year Examiner, College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, University of Sierra Leone.
I was made the Hospital Care Manager and Consultant Psychiatrist at the Kissy Mental Hospital in 1981.
As the Head of the Kissy Mental Hospital, I treat all mental health patients admitted at the Kissy Mental Hospital, Freetown. This includes patients with problems of drug abuse, (which is about 100,000) epilepsy (20,000) mental sub normality (20,000) post traumatic stress disorder over (100,000) depression schizophrenia, depression, hypomania and others.
