 NUTRITION PROGRAMME MANAGER FOR BURKINA FASO

Freetown, August 16, 2007 (MoHS) The Programme Manager of the National Food and Nutrition Programme in the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, Miss Sylvetta Scott has been invited to attend the West African Health Organization Focal Points Mid Term Review Meeting to be held in Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso next Tuesday August 21,2007.

 Miss Sylvetta Scott who is expected to present an experience sharing paper on the country’s National Nutrition Programme and the most recent country data on Vitamin A supplement data on Anaemia Prevalence would be joining other participants from the ECOWAS Member States.

 

According to the Public Relations Officer, Ministry of Health and Sanitation, Mr. Jonathan Abass Kamara, the last meeting was held in Sao Vicente in September 2006 to assess the level of the implementation of the Cape Verde recommendations and share experiences implemented in  nutrition at country and regional levels.­

 

This second Mid Term Review Meeting, Jonathan Abass Kamara said, would at a special session devoted to Information Technology and Nutrition to facilitate the finalization and the development of data bases in the framework of establishing a Nutrition Information System in ECOWAS.
