My name is Doctor Arthur Williams. I obtained my first degree in Medicine at the Odessa Medical School in Russia from 1970 to 1977. I did my housemanship at Connaught Hospital in the Internal Medicine, Surgery Pediatric and Gynecology units and finished as the best houseman in that year. From 1980 to 1982 I worked at the Lungi Government Hospital and the Pujehun Government Hospital.

I went to Germany in 1982 and did a post graduate course in Pathology at the FACHARZT Institute and qualified in 1987. I also did some courses in Haematology, Blood Banking, Chemistry Micro Biology, Forensic Medicine and Tropical Medicine.
I returned home in 1988, I started work in that same year at the Connaught Hospital in the Laboratory Unit as a Specialist Pathologist. At the same time, I was attached to the newly opened College of Medicine as a lecturer in Pathology (1988 to 2001).
From 1999 to 2001, I was in charge of Connaught Hospital as Hospital Care Manager. I was appointed Deputy Director General Medical Services (Clinical) from 2001 to 2006. I was made a Fellow of the West Africa College of Physicians (Faculty of Laboratory Medicine) in 2003. In July 2006 I was appointed Acting Director General Medical Services.
As the Director of Hospital and Laboratory Services, I oversee and supervise the works in the secondary and tertiary institutions, District and Referral Hospitals.
