My name is Jongopie. S. Stevens. I attended the Cambridge College of Technology and obtained BSC in Engineering from 1972 to1975. I did a post graduate course and obtained a Diploma in Biomedical Engineering at the TECHNISH University Budapest, Hungary in 1986.
I started work in the Ministry of Health and Sanitation in 1976 as a pupil engineer and have risen over the years to the post of Chief Medical Electronic Engineer in 2000.
The Facilities and Maintenance Division formerly Medical Electronics Division of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation was established in 1973 when an Engineer, Mr. .M S Finney, from the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Services was transferred to the Ministry to set up and head the Division.
As the Chief Medical Electronic Engineer, I am in charge of taking care of all Electro Medical Equipments of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation. These facilities include X ray machines, laboratory equipments and so on.
