My name is Dr. Sarian Kamara, Manager of the National Malaria Control Programme. I obtained my medical degree from Kief Medical institute in Ukraine, former Soviet Union. I returned to the country in 1986 and started work in 1987.

Dr. Sarian Kamara, Manager, Malaria Control Programme

I did my houseman ship for two years at the Connaught Hospital and the Princess Christian Hospital, where I worked in different departments. I am also a trained malariologist.

I was appointed Manager of the Malaria Control Programme in 1994.

The role of the Programme is to reduce death and illness caused by malaria in the country. This is why the Malaria control is a priority Programme in the Ministry of Health and Sanitation and is ranked Number 1 in the Health Policy and action plan.
