The Kargbo Family, Gofor village, Dama Chiefdom

My name is Digba. We are from Kalangba, Gbendembu Ngowahun Chiefdom, Bombali district and live here at Gofor village, Dama Chiefdom.
The Kargbo Family, Gofor village, Dama Chiefdom

I am a petty trader and my husband is a diamond digger. We also sell palm wine. We are very grateful to the Government especially the Health Minister and her team for bringing health facilities closer to our villages.

All of my children who were born after the Ngiema Health Post was established were safely delivered there. In the past we used to engage the services of traditional birth attendants/midwives when we hadn’t the money to pay. Even when the money was available, we had to go to public health units that were very far away for health care services.

This is now a thing of the past. We are really grateful for this initiative. I hope this is the case for our mothers and sisters everywhere in the country.
