I have served the health sector for four years and came here on June 15 to act in the capacity of my colleague, Kadiatu Kamara who is on maternity leave. I got my real baptism two days later when a 13-year old class five pupil safely delivered in our hands at the Post as I was trying to settle down for work in the village. I am gradually coping with the realities of dealing with the eight catchments under our domain, with the assistance of Mohamed O. Kamara, a community Motivator. It will interest you to know that the closest in the catchments is located one and a half miles away.
We are mainly concerned with basic primary health care and public health issues. I am sure that after we have been relocated we would have been more capacitated in service delivery than we currently are due to the smallness of the current structure that we are operating from which far betrays its purpose.
