I am a trained Community Camp Hygiene Promoter, but also assisting medical staff at the New Maforki Community Health Post in Port Loko as a Traditional Birth Attendant.

It is a community service which I perform free as my own little contribution in helping to reduce infant and maternal mortality in the town where almost everyone is poor, vulnerable or still traumatized.

Although I have not undergone any formal professional training for my current job, I have had five years of practical experience in which I have acquired basic wealth of experience to meet with uncomplicated challenges in the labour room. It may interest you to know that I have helped to safely deliver over fifty children. I can even do more if given the requisite training and equipment like my colleagues elsewhere.

Government and other stakeholders that have the district at heart should know that there are people like us who are selflessly prepared to sacrifice for our country, but need professional training and appropriate equipment.
