I am Chief Mambu Moiwai, the Chiefdom Speaker of Small Bo chiefdom. The decentralisation exercise in health care delivery is good us traditional rulers and our people. It has given us more confidence in the Health Minister for such an achievement.

Nearly all the existing health centres in Kenema were destroyed during the war. But currently, Small Bo Chiefdom which had only one public health unit before the war can now boast of three Maternal Child Health Posts, 2 Community Health Posts and a Community Health centre. We are grateful to Government for this.

This has drastically cut down on transport costs to and from far away health centres and the Kenema Government Hospital. Due to the nearness of Community Health Centres and Maternal Child Health Posts now, we only go to Kenema with serious emergency referrals. This is completely in contrast with what used to be in the past.
